About Us
I have always loved puzzles and math, which led me to get my CPA and then my Masters in Finance. I started my career at a big 8 CPA firm, have been a CFO for several companies. I have worked for serveral Indian Gaming casinos as GM and CFO. My wife and I have owned and operated two Business in Solvang as well, Valley Vino Wine Bar then Succulent Café for over 10 years before getting an offer we couldn’t refuse.
We have been part of the community, living and working in the Valley for over 25 years. We have raised our family and run businesses while making lifelong friends and bonds, volunteering our time and donating.
Having owned a business I know what it’s like to worry about payroll, manage cash flow, make difficult decisions, and balance the demands of running a business all while serving customers and supporting employees.
STEWART FRIES, Consultant
Stewart has specialized in the wine industry, business & personal accounting, taxation and overall business management since 1982. Borne out of over 44 years direct experience in the wine industry he brings his background of hands-on winery & vineyard accounting experience. His history in business management and accounting services bring a level of professional competence and common sense to business and valuation issues. Stewart is qualified as a certified tax preparer by the Internal Revenue Service.
MICHELLE ADAMS, Enrolled Agent
Michelle studied accounting at Minnesota State University at Mankato and University of California, Santa Barbara. She relocated to the Santa Ynez Valley after university and became a bookkeeper at a local Thoroughbred ranch for a short while before beginning a 35 year career with a local CPA firm. In 2000 she was awarded a license as Enrolled Agent by the IRS. This license allows her to practice on the same level as a CPA or attorney, before the IRS. Her experience includes accounting, payroll, financial statement preparation, property owner’s associations and sales. tax reporting.
JACKIE HERSHEY, Enrolled Agent
Jackie is a Santa Ynez High School graduate, raising her two kids in the Valley. Jackie brings over 10 years experience in management, tax operations, client services and business administration. As an Enrolled Agent she dedicates her time to making the clients feel welcomed and supported. She continually works towards expanding her education and training to better serve our growing community of clients.
ANGELICA PEREZ, Bookkeeper
Angelica is a native of the Santa Ynez Valley and is raising her two kids while living and working in her beloved community. Angelica has over 12 years experience helping individual and businesses confidently navigate their accounting & payroll needs. She recently earned her Associates in Science in accounting from Allan Hancock College and desires to continue her education. Her focus is to bring clarity, accuracy, and peace of mind to clients.
